Terms & Conditions

Creative Business Academy for Africa (CBAA)

  1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering and participating in the Creative Business Academy for Africa (CBAA), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as well as any policies or guidelines communicated by CBAA, whether in print, by email, or through its official platforms.


2. Programme Overview

2.1 CBAA is a professional and educational programme designed to equip participants with practical skills in the creative and entertainment industries. The programme includes classroom instruction, simulated business environments, mentorship sessions, and real-life project collaborations with industry professionals and talents.

2.2 Participation requires active engagement, teamwork, and professionalism throughout the programme’s duration.


3 Registration and Payments

3.1 Registration is confirmed only upon receipt of the full or initial instalment payment.

3.2 Participants are responsible for ensuring that all payments are made through approved CBAA channels.

3.3 CBAA reserves the right to deny access to any participant who fails to complete payment within the stated deadlines.


4 Refund and Cancellation Policy

4.1 Refund requests must be made within four (4) weeks of payment, provided such request is not made after January 16, 2026.

4.2 All approved refunds are subject to a 30% cancellation fee of the total registration fee.

4.3 No cancellations or refund requests will be accepted after January 16, 2026.

4.4 Any payment made after January 16, 2026, is strictly non-refundable, regardless of circumstances.

4.5 Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 30 working days of approval.


5 Behaviour and Professional Conduct

5.1 Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and collaborative manner throughout the programme.

5.2 CBAA maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment, bullying, discrimination, plagiarism, or disruptive behaviour.

5.3 Repeated unprofessional conduct may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from the programme without refund.

5.4 Participants must comply with all instructions from faculty, mentors, and programme coordinators.


6 Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality

6.1 Given that CBAA participants operate in simulated companies and collaborate with real creatives and professionals, the following rules apply:

6.2 Any existing or prior professional or personal relationship with a creative, mentor, or partner brand involved in the CBAA Talent Programme must be disclosed in writing to the Academy.

6.3 Participants must not solicit or accept external work, payment, or benefits from talents or mentors within the context of CBAA projects unless expressly authorised by the Academy.

6.4 Confidential information obtained during the programme, including materials, data, or creative works, must not be shared, published, or used outside the scope of CBAA without prior written consent.

6.5 Participants are prohibited from entering into independent agreements, management contracts, or business arrangements with talents engaged in the CBAA Talent Programme during the course or within six (6) months after completion, without written consent from CBAA.


7 Attendance and Participation

7.1 Active participation in all sessions, assignments, and group activities is mandatory.

7.2 Persistent absenteeism or non-performance may affect eligibility for programme completion, certification, or post-programme opportunities.

7.3 Participants must meet performance expectations set by faculty and mentors.


8 Intellectual Property

8.1 Any intellectual property, creative work, or project developed within the framework of CBAA’s simulation or assignments shall remain the property of CBAA.

8.2 Participants grant CBAA a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display their contributions for educational, marketing, and promotional purposes.

8.3 Participants are responsible for respecting all copyright and intellectual property laws during the programme.


9 Media Release and Use of Likeness

9.1 By participating in CBAA, you grant CBAA full permission to:

9.2 Record, photograph, or film you during any class, activity, or event;

9.3 Use your name, image, voice, and likeness in promotional materials, press releases, broadcasts, or online content relating to CBAA;

9.4 Distribute such materials globally, in perpetuity, without payment or further consent.

9.5 If you have privacy concerns, you may notify the Academy in writing, and reasonable accommodations will be considered.


10 Data Protection

CBAA collects and processes participants’ personal information solely for administrative and educational purposes. All data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Participants may request access to or deletion of their personal data by contacting CBAA directly.


11 Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

11.1 CBAA does not guarantee employment, representation, or financial gain as a result of participation in the programme.

11.2 CBAA, its staff, and affiliates are not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in the programme, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.


12 Modification of Terms

CBAA reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any updates will be communicated through official CBAA channels, and continued participation constitutes acceptance of such modifications.


13 Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
